MarketBarPrivacy Policy

The MarketBar app collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind inside the app. Nothing you do in it is sent to us — we operate no servers that receive your data.
This website is separate, and it does use analytics. That is covered in This website below.
What the app stores
Everything MarketBar saves stays on your Mac, inside the app's sandbox container. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

Deleting MarketBar removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
What the app connects to
MarketBar fetches market data directly from Binance's public API. These are the only network connections it makes:
api.binance.com— over HTTPS, for the list of available trading pairs, price snapshots, and chart historystream.binance.com— over a secure WebSocket, for live price updates on the coins in your watchlist
These requests carry the trading pair symbols you are watching (for example BTCUSDT). They contain no account identifier, no device identifier, and no personal information, because the app has none to send. As with any internet request, Binance receives your IP address. Binance's handling of that is governed by their own privacy policy, not this one.
MarketBar is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Binance.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Notifications — only so price alerts you create can be delivered. Notifications are generated on your Mac; nothing is sent through a push server. If you decline, the rest of the app works normally.
- Open at login — off by default, and only enabled if you turn it on in Settings.
This website
Everything above describes the app. This website — marketbar.app — is a different matter, and it uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read.
Google Analytics stores a cookie in your browser and reports to Google: the pages you view, roughly where you are (country or city level, derived from your IP address), your browser and operating system, and how you arrived here. Google Analytics 4 does not record your full IP address. We use this only to understand whether anyone is finding the site; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with anything else.
If you would rather not be counted, any of these works:
- Install Google's opt-out browser add-on
- Turn on your browser's tracking protection, or use a content blocker
- Simply download the app — the app itself contains no analytics whatsoever, so nothing you do after downloading is visible to us
Google's handling of this data is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
Children
MarketBar is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Because the app collects nothing, we do not expect substantive changes unless the app itself gains a feature that requires them.
